Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing a multi-functional global transportation branch location that encompasses air/ocean and customs brokerage, overseeing the operations, focusing on the customer, quality and productivity, business, and people development.
  • Oversee direct reports, including various business leaders throughout North and Eastern India.
  • Hands-on expertise with agency development and nominations.
  • Manages P&Ls against budget and all accounting associated with North and East branches.
  • Establish and ensure operational implementation and compliance with processes and procedures for handling the freight product.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the business units that will drive optimal profitability.
  • Clearly communicate organizational goals to management; support allocation of resources as needed in order to meet objectives.
  • Actively measure the success of each department within the business unit.
  • Responsible for strong growth within the Business unit, maximizing utilization of business potential, and expanding customer relationships
  • Fully adhere to all defined global processes, policies, regulations, statutory compliance, and standards, review AR/AP reports, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Effectively delegate to ensure commitment to the overall strategy.

Location

  • 10+ years of Management Experience at a Freight Forwarder or similar environment, with demonstrated leadership progression.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage employee, vendor, and customer relationships.
    Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Team-oriented and inspirational leader; take initiative and lead by example.
  • Actively coach, motivate, hire, train, and discipline as needed.

Strategic background:

  • Has the ability to work across all areas of the company.
  • Functional knowledge in air/ocean/logistics/customs brokerage/ supply-chain management, and international agency business development.
  • Dynamic leadership skills, proactive decision-making, and driving results.

Educational background:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Work experience:

  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in international logistics (freight forwarding, agency development, and customs brokerage experience are optimal)
