Job Description
Dangerous Goods Executive is responsible for overseeing the safe handling, transportation, and documentation of hazardous materials. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of dangerous goods classifications. Additionally, the executive will manage the preparation of relevant documentation.
KRA’s:
- Ensure strict adherence to international and local regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods. Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with applicable laws and industry standards.
- Need to have Dangerous Goods Qualified & Experienced certificate.
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of all necessary documentation for the transportation of dangerous goods.
- Need to have a certificate of CAT 3 or CAT 1 or both for freight forwarding.
- Implement efficient 90-day record-keeping systems to track shipments and documentation.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for the handling and transportation of hazardous materials. Collaborate with carriers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to facilitate the smooth movement of dangerous goods.
- Establish effective communication with customers to address any issues related to the transportation of hazardous materials.
- Identify potential risks associated with the transportation of dangerous goods and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, coordinating with airlines and customer’s relevant parties to resolve issues.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and technological advancements related to dangerous goods transportation.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering reliable and compliant services.
- Manage the budget allocated for dangerous goods operations, optimizing costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
